Essie Hicks MPA, LMT, C-MLD and Founder
Essie is an approved massage CE provider with the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social science from Washington State University and a master’s degree in public administration from Seattle University. She studied education at Uppsala University in Sweden and has over 25 years of experience in massage and natural therapeutics.

Dr. Evan Hassel
Evan Hassel, DPT, is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with more than 20 years of experience in hands-on healing. He began his career as a licensed massage therapist, spending a decade in private practice before earning his doctorate in physical therapy. Evan has since served as a clinician, supervisor, and program developer in high-volume outpatient orthopedic settings across Washington and Oregon. His expertise includes manual therapy, trigger point and myofascial release, evidence-based rehabilitative exercise, and integrative approaches to movement and pain relief. As an educator, he emphasizes clear clinical reasoning, functional assessment, and practical, patient-centered treatment strategies.

Barb Stouffer BS, Herbalist, Reiki Master, Yoga Instructor
For more than 40 years, Barb has devoted herself to the study and practice of herbalism. Her journey began with her first herbalism class, which sparked a lifelong commitment to authentic, natural healing. She has trained with renowned herbalists and energy workers—including Rosemary Gladstar, Matthew Wood, and Theresa Boardwine—and studied Medicinal Herbalism at the Green Comfort School of Herbal Medicine.
Barb is also a Reiki Master, certified in Aroma Acupoint Therapy, and skilled in crafting Bach-inspired flower essences from local plants to support emotional well-being. She holds a BS in Psychology from the University of Maryland and is a certified Yoga Instructor, integrating mind–body wisdom into her work.

Gabe Hicks has been a software developer for over 25 years and holds a BS in Computer Science from Evergreen State University. He has worked for startup and Fortune 500 companies in roles from senior architect developer to CTO and VP.

Dr. Sarah Lloyd Ph.D., Health Equity Instructor
for the past three decades, dr. sarahlloyd has led teams in k-20 education, social work, human services, workforce development, and public service. with this breadth of experience, there aren’t many organizational challenges she hasn’t faced—and overcome. as a systemically-marginalized human committed to change, she brings lived experience of inequitable structures every single day. with degrees in advertising, educational leadership & policy, and social justice leadership, she blends theory with practice, offering support, advocacy, and thought partnership for leaders determined to do dope shit in their communities. it’s a whole vibe. and so is she.

Dr. Mary Attwood, ND
With a heart for the healing arts, Dr. Mary Attwood brings presence and insight shaped by her extensive experience in quantum healing work and a wide range of modalities, including traditional Swedish massage, Japanese Shiatsu, Healing Touch, Nature Cure, and Kundalini Yoga—along with her training in naturopathic medical school.
Dr. Mary’s primary work is as a women’s/femme-focused naturopathic physician and primary care doctor at Heart of Wellness in Tumwater. Her practice is informed by diverse spiritual traditions and extensive trainings, giving her a unique ability to navigate healing practices that are both ancient and emergent.
Beyond her clinical practice, she teaches sound-journey classes and continuing education courses throughout Olympia, Washington.
