Date: June 10th
Time: 4pm-8pm PST
Location: Zoom Webinar
This engaging and reflective ethics course is designed to help massage therapists navigate the emotional, energetic, and professional realities of caring for others in a helping profession. Through guided discussion, case studies, practical tools, and collaborative learning, participants will explore ethical decision-making, professional boundaries, communication skills, scope of practice, transference and countertransference, burnout prevention, and strategies for sustainable long-term practice. We will discuss classic ethics for healthcare practioners and business ethics solopreneurs and entrepreneurs.
This course fulfills the ethics continuing education requirements for NCBTMB renewal and is appropriate for both new and experienced practitioners seeking grounded, real-world conversations about the evolving challenges of therapeutic work. NCBTMB Board Certificants are required to complete ethics continuing education as part of their renewal process.
Special guest speaker Tracey Foels of Foels Counseling, LMHC, will present her powerful talk, When the Work Gets Heavy™, addressing the emotional realities of working closely with clients experiencing stress, trauma, grief, chronic pain, and life transitions. Tracey brings her expertise in counseling and mental health support to help massage therapists better recognize breaches in boundaries, understand when referral is appropriate, and develop healthy practices for emotional resilience and self-regulation. Her presentation offers practical insight into caring deeply for clients without losing oneself in the process.
